Ammber Pandey

Ammber Pandey has published three award winning poetry collections in Hindi. Kolahal ki Kaviataayein, his first poetry collection was published by Vaani Prakashan in 2018. For this book, he won the prestigious Shabd Samman 2019, Hemant Smriti Kavita Samman 2021 and Kriti Samman in 2022. His second poetry collection titled Garud aur Anay Shok Geet was published to immense critical acclaim in 2021 by Setu Prakashan.  Essentially a book-length elegy, Garud aur Anay Shok Geet was written after the demise of Ammber’s young brother during the corona years. Shok Geet is the only book-length long elegy published in Hindi after Nirala’s Saroj Smriti which was published in 1935. Written on the mythical character Garud, this long lament on the dead in poetry form, cemented his position as one of the most promising young poets of contemporary Hindi literature. His third poetry book, moves from the sorrow of the previous collection- to love. Published by Vani Prakashan in 2023, ‘Rukmani Haran aur Anay Prem Kavitayein’  is collection of love poems which was released on the day of his wedding. Ammber’s trilogy of novels based on an inquiry into the formation Hindu Identity in India is published by Vani Prakashan.
