Ritesh Kumar Singh

Ritesh Kumar Singh is a seasoned business economist with over two decades of experience, he possesses a deep understanding of global macroeconomic trends, regulatory landscapes, and India’s economic realities, including its challenges and policy choices. Since August 2018, he has served as the CEO and Chief Economist of Indonomics Consulting Private Limited, with operations in Bangalore and Noida. Previously, he was the Group Chief Economist at Raymond Limited (2012-18) and the Group Trade Economist at Aditya Birla Group (2008-12). 

His government roles include serving as Assistant Director at the 13th Finance Commission, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance (2007-08), and as a Research Officer (Economics) in the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India (2001-07).

A well known voice in economic analysis, he is an India columnist for Nikkei Asia, providing insights on macroeconomic issues, trade and investment policies, and WTO/FTA-related developments for a global readership. His opinion pieces and commentaries have been widely published by major English newspapers and news portals, including The Times of India, The Hindu, The Hindu Business Line, The Economic Times, The Diplomat, The Financial Express, ThePrint, and Deccan Herald.

He has also advised DAI, London, and the European Union Delegation to India on trade and investment policies. As a visiting faculty member, he teaches Business Economics at leading business schools across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. Presently, he is working on his first book, aimed at helping Gen Z Indians become financially smart and responsible spenders.
