Sourav Roy

Sourav Roy is a bilingual writer, poet, journalist, and translator. He currently works as a teacher at Head Start Educational Academy, Bengaluru; and has been a visiting faculty at Azim Premji University and NIFT Bengaluru in the past. He is also a core member of Anjuman, a literary club that promotes Hindi-Urdu literature in Bengaluru. In the past, Sourav has worked as an engineer, and later as an editor at YourStory where he wrote about India’s social sector. He was the editor of the magazine Bengaluru Review for over three years, and wrote regular columns for Deccan Herald newspaper between 2019-2020.

His published work includes — collection of poetry: Kaal Baisakhi (Vani Prakashan, 2022); edited volumes of poetry and plays: Karnakavita (Atta Galatta, 2015), Teen Natak (Bloomsbury, 2018), Tathagat aur Anya Natak (Vaam Prakashan, 2024); and translations: Soho Mein Marx (Rajkamal Prakashan, 2018); Os Ki Prithvi (Vani Prakashan, 2019).
