Shivani Sibal

Shivani Sibal is the author of two novels, Moms and Equations.

She was born and brought up in New Delhi, where she continues to live with her husband and two daughters.

Her debut novel Equations was published by HarperCollins in July 2021. Set in Lutyens Delhi from the 1980s onwards, it tells the story of two childhood friends, Aahan Sikand, the heir of a wealthy family, and Rajesh Kumar, the son of the family driver. The novel explores themes of class divide, aspiration, power and social change.

Her second novel Moms, published by HarperCollins in 2026, turns the lens on modern motherhood and marriage. It examines the performance of a perfect life and the cost of sustaining it.
