Taranand Viyogi

Taranand Viyogi is a leading Maithili poet, critic and essayist from Mithila. Over 30 years he has authored nearly 40 books across genres. His poetry collections include Dharashayi Hebak Samay, Duniya Ghar Mehman, Pralay Rahasya and Hastakshep. As a critic and biographer he is known for Tumi Chir Sarathi, Yugon Ka Yatri, Jeevan Kya Jiya and the 2-volume Maithili Kavitak Hazar Varsh. Recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Award for Ee Bhetal ta ki bhetal, Muktibodh Samman and Raza Fellowship, he is celebrated for lyrical honesty, spiritual depth and his mentorship of young Maithili writers.
