Col Sandeep Sharma
Col Sandeep Sharma was commissioned into the Corps of Signals of India Army as an officer in 1989 and retired in 2024 after 35 years of illustrious service. He is a BSc from St Xavier's College Kolkata and BE (Electronics) from the MNNIT Prayagraj. He had also done his M Tech (CS) and PGDM from IIM Lucknow. Currently he is pursuing his PhD in AI. During his service in the Indian Army he had three instructional tenures in various top class military colleges of both engineering and management. He also did HoD in the prestigious Military college of telecommunication engineering at Mhow. But what he is especially proud of is his four successful tenures in the Counter Terrorist areas in J&K and North East. While in J&K he was awarded the Army Commander Northern Command's Commendation Card and also 'Scientist in Uniform' award. His several papers on Counter Terrorist operations including few in international conferences, changed the way these operations are carried out. He will be remembered by the Indian Army for his novel thinking in all walks of life including the operations. The officer has a wide spectrum of his areas of interest. Some of the things he is passionate about include Science, Technology, Yoga, Physical fitness, Barefoot running, teaching, learning, healing, environmental issues, sustainability security and Sanatan wisdom etc. He was born in Varanasi and is planning to settle here only. On his retirement, he was first appointed by the UP Govt and sent to Ayodhya as an OIC ETF with the Nagar Nigam Ayodhya. After pran pratishtha, on his request he was shifted from Ayodhya to Varanasi in the same capacity, where he is likely to continue for the next 5 years. A warrior of environment matters and an advocate of sustainability issues he continues to contribute towards these issues in all possible ways for the society and mother Earth.
