Rakesh Kumar Singh

Rakesh Kumar Singh, a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), is a prolific author with ten books to his name. A seasoned writer, he has contributed over 100 articles to leading newspapers and magazines on a wide range of subjects. As a resource person for police academies, he brings valuable insights into law enforcement and security dynamics. His book Behind the Uniform: Not Just a Cop (Garuda, 2023) explores the often-overlooked emotional and psychological challenges faced by police officers. 

Recognized for his scholarly contributions, he has been awarded the prestigious Govind Ballabh Pant Puraskar twice—first in 2012 for Naxalwad aur Police ki Bhumika and again in 2021 for Naxalvaad: Unkaha Sach—by the Bureau of Police Research & Development, Ministry of Home Affairs. His fiction works, including Affairs of Deception (Rupa, 2024), Colours of Red (Rupa, 2021), Lockdown Love (Om Books, 2022), and Ek Ghoont Chandani (2017), have been widely appreciated. His latest book, Kuchh Tinake, Kuchh Baatein (Setu, 2025), further adds to his diverse literary portfolio.
